Rotary Volunteering What is Rotary

A flexible club experience

A passport club is a Rotary club that gives its members a more flexible club experience by:

  • Encouraging members to visit other clubs
  • Participating in Rotary and other NFP projects
  • Relaxing the attendance policy
  • Offering a variety of meeting formats

Rotary clubs evolve

Rotary clubs continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of their communities and local professionals.

Some new and existing clubs are adopting an innovative passport club model to offer their members more flexibility and a broader experience.

What is a Passport Rotary club?

The term “passport” refers to the ability to move freely from club to club, attending the meetings or participating in the activities of other clubs.

Any Rotarian can attend another club when traveling, but passport clubs encourage their members to do so regularly which brings fresh ideas back to their own club.

Need help for your NFP?

Sunshine Coast Passport Rotary’s key focus  is to collaborate with other Rotary clubs and not–for profit organisations on their service projects. The plan is to offer club members to provide leadership, passion and integrity rather than taking on fundraising events that do not assist the club or Rotary’s own charity, The Rotary Foundation.

Our club members will be able to work with other Rotary clubs and other organisations in their community projects, and to help them raise funds.

Taking part serving the community is highly rewarding and engaging.

If you need help, we ask you to make an application so our club members can discuss your idea and help if we are able.

Priority will be given to Rotary-affiliated events, but all community groups are welcome to submit. Approved events will appear on our club service calendar.

Ending Polio forever and other causes

Rotary is dedicated to six areas of focus to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever.

  • Promoting peace
  • Fighting disease
  • Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Saving mothers and children
  • Supporting education
  • Growing local economies

There are endless ways to help in each of these causes and, like many Rotarians and their partners, you can find your own niche.

So why not ask how your own interests can be included!
